Scope and Objective: The objective of the Law of Georgia on Social Assistance is to ensure provision of equitable, targeted and efficient assistance to population through establishment of a robust system of social protection. The law regulates relationships arising in the field of social assistance receipt, defines competent administrative structures in the field of social assistance, types of social assistance benefits and basic principles of granting social assistance benefits. Unless otherwise indicated, persons falling under the scope of the law are people in need of special care, homeless people and poor families.

Law of Georgia on State Pension (Georgian Only)
Scope and Objective: The objective of the Law of Georgia on State Pension is to ensure social and economic rights of population guaranteed by the Constitution. The law regulates the conditions for receipt of state pension, sets the amount of state pension, defines competent administrative body, sets forth rules and conditions for granting, payment, suspension, termination and reinstatement of state pension, regulates other relationships arising in connection with state pensions.
- Law of Georgia on Medical-Social Expertise (Georgian Only)
Scope and Objective: The stated objective of The Law of Georgia on Medical-Social Expertise is to protect health of population of Georgia, to determine disability status, to create conditions conductive to rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with disabilities. The law on Medical-Social Expertise defines legal, economic and organizational conditions for carrying out medical-social expertise.
- Law of Georgia on Social Protection of People with Disabilities (Georgian Only)
Scope and Objective: The stated objective of the Law of Georgia on Social Protection of People with Disabilities is to ensure the realization of human rights and fundamental freedoms for people with disabilities on equal basis with others, to create conditions conductive to their full and effective participation in economic and social life. The law defines the basis of Government policy towards people with disabilities.
- Law of Georgia on Social Protection of Families of Dead, Dead from Wounds and Missing for Territorial Integrity, Liberty and Independence of Georgia (Georgian Only);
Scope and Objective: The Law defines organizational, economic and legal basis of social protection of families (spouses, parents and children unable to work; sons/daughters under the age of 18 years) of dead, dead from wounds and missing for territorial integrity, liberty and independence of Georgia.

Scope and Objective: The Law of Georgia on War and Military Forces Veterans defines legal, organizational and economic basis of social protection of war and military forces veterans to ensure their welfare and to create conditions conductive to their activities.
- Law of Georgia on Recognition and Social Protection Guarantees of Damaged as a result of Attack on Peaceful Assembly for the Purpose of Independence of Georgia on April 9, 1989 (Georgian Only);
Scope and Objective: Law of Georgia on Recognition and Social Protection Guarantees of Damaged as a result of Attack on Peaceful Assembly for the Purpose of Independence of Georgia on April 9, 1989 aims at creating legal basis for social protection guarantees for persons falling under the scope of the law. Persons falling under the scope of the law are defined as follows: families of dead as a result of attack on peaceful assembly of April 9, 1989; and persons, whose health has been damaged as a result of the attack on peaceful assembly, if the fact was verified by the defined institution before the adoption of this law.
- Law of Georgia on Recognition as Victims and Social Protection of Victims of Political Repressions (Georgian Only);
Scope and Objective: The Law of Georgia on Recognition as Victims and Social Protection of the Victims of Political Repressions sets forth definition of concept of political repression and victim of political repression, defines rules for recognition as victims of political repression and establishes social protection guarantees for persons under the scope the law. Persons falling under the scope of the law are citizens of Georgia, who were subjected to political repression on the territory of former Soviet Union from 1921 to 1990 and on the territory of Georgia after this date. The law does not cover persons belonging to ethnic groups deported from 1921 to 1990.
- Law of Georgia on Adoption (Georgian Only)
Scope and Objective: The Law of Georgia on Adoption sets forth rules and procedures for adoption of children under 18 years who have been deprived of parental care and who reside on the territory of Georgia, by citizens of Georgia, persons without citizenship and citizens of foreign states. The objective of the law is to ensure that adoption is based upon the best interests of the child and on rights of the child recognized by international law. The law reaffirms the right of the child to grow up in family environment and the obligation of the state to contribute to the realization of this right for children deprived of parental care. The Law emphasizes that adoption is the most acceptable form of childcare and is a prerogative of the state.
- Law of Georgia on Foster Care for Orphans or Children Deprived of Parental Care (Georgian Only);
Scope and Objective: The Law of Georgia on Foster Care for Orphans or Children Deprived of Parental Care reaffirms the right of the child to grow up in family environment, emphasizes special responsibility of the state to ensure realization of this right for orphans and children deprived of parental care based on their best interests. The stated objective of the law is to ensure the right of the child to grow up in a family environment, to reduce social orphanage, to contribute to socialization and adaptation of children in society through activation of the foster care system. The law defines legal principles underlying foster care adoption, governs relationships, which arise in the process of foster care adoption between foster families and the state, defines rules and procedures of foster care adoption and establishes guarantees for their implementation.
- Law of Georgia on Public Procurement (Georgian Only)

Scope and Objective: The law of Georgia on Public Procurement establishes general legal, organizational and economic principles governing public procurement. The provisions of the law apply to all types of public procurement, except procurement related to state secret as defined in Law of Georgia on State Secret. The stated objectives of the law are: to ensure rational spending of funds allocated for public procurement; to develop healthy competition in the field of production of goods, provision of services and construction work necessary for the state; to ensure non-discriminative and just treatment of bidders in public procurement process, to ensure publicity of public procurement; to establish unified system of public procurement; to earn the society’s trust in the system.

Scope and Objective: Law of Georgia on Licenses and Permits regulates organized activities or acts, which refer to unlimited group of people, are characterized as dangerous for human life or health; involve particularly important state or public interest; are connected with consumption of State’s resources. The law sets forth exhaustive list of types of licenses and permits, establishes rules for granting, amending and canceling licenses and permits.
- Law of Georgia on Licensing Educational and Pedagogic Institutions’ Activities;
Scope and Objective: Law of Georgia on Licensing Educational and Pedagogic Institutions’ Activities, in accordance with Law of Georgia on Licenses and Permits, regulates relations connected to granting licensing educational and pedagogic institutions’ activities. The law defines types of activities subject to licensing, licensing authorities and additional licensing conditions.

Scope and Objective: The Law defines types of fees applicable to licenses and permits and establishes rules and timelines of their payment.
