On July 3-5, 2008, in Bazaleti Hotel Complex Bazaleti European Center for Non-for-Profit Law (ECNL) in cooperation with Civil Society Institute and financial support of European Union (EU) has held regional conference on New Opportunities: Government - Civil Society Relations.
Conference has been dedicated to development of relations between the state and civil society through development of legal and political means affecting these relations. Conference has been held as part of the Strengthening the Legal Framework for Citizen Action through Freedom of Association Project being implemented by ECNL with financial support of EU in Azerbaijan, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. In Georgia, ECNL is partnered by Civil Society Institute.
Project parties have participated in the Conference along with Government and civil society representatives, experts, representatives of donor organizations.
Following issues have been addressed:
- Means of relations between the state and civil society;
- State strategy of civil society organizations’ support;
- Prospects of state funding of civil society organizations. ;
