On March 5, in Courtyard Marriot, welfare journalists competition award ceremony took place. Event has been attended by mass-media, international and local non-governmental organizations representatives.

Let Us Care for each Other is the title of the competition founded by Civil Society Institute in order to establish best newspaper publication, best photo, best radio and TV broadcast item on welfare issues aiming to better welfare related public coverage. Consequently, awards have been assigned by four listed nominations with the prize money of 1,000 GEL each.

Materials submitted for the competition have been appraised by the members of the Jury made up of Vazha Salamadze, Zviad Koridze, David Paichadze and Guram Tsibakhashvili.

Competition winners have been announced during final event in Courtyard Marriot Hotel on March 5.

  • Best Newspaper Publication Author has been awarded to Sophio Todua of 24 Hours Newspaper, for the Crossroad Generals Article.
  • Best TV Broadcast Item has been awarded to the pupils of Leaders School with the Ozurgeti Pedagogues Union for the I’m Coming Alone TV reel.
  • Best Photo has been awarded to photographer Natela Grigalashvili

Each of the winners have been awarded with the prize money – 1,000 GEL, Awardee Certificate and the Prize to be made by House of Social Therapy. The title of the prize is to be defined by separate competition announced for the purpose. No Radio broadcast items have been submitted of the competition. By the decision of Jury Members, Radio nomination has been cancelled for the current year, as for the prize money, it has been divided into two halves and in the form of encouraging prize has been awarded to journalist Elza Tsiklauri of Resonansi Newspaper for the series of social articles and photographer Irina Abjandadze for the series of social photos (attached file). Each of the named has been awarded 500 GEL, Awardee Certificate and the Prize. Let Us Care for Each Other competition founded by Civil Society Institute will be held annually. Next year’s competition has been announced on the 5th of March Ceremony.
