Within the framework of the Supporting Participative Development of Local Authorities in Regions of Georgia Project, Civil Society Institute in cooperation with regional partners has started meeting population in Adjara, Shida Kartli, Guria and Kakheti regions. Meetings pursue goals of rising awareness about institutions of local self-governance and increasing civic involvement in local self-governance.

Informational materials have been handed out along with information on self-governance’s role and functions, rights and relations with self-governance authorities. Apart from that, discussion has been held in order to unearth and grade local problems by their priority.

On May 14-15, meetings have been held in 4 municipalities as follows:

• Kobuleti Municipality – Kokhi, Sofelkobuleti;
• Ozurgeti Municipality – Bakhvi, Bokhvauri;
• Kvareli Municipality – Kiziri, Gavaza;
• Gori Municipality – Shavshvebi, Khurvaleti;

Within the framework of the Project, in 8 municipalities of mentioned 4 regions 240 similar information meetings will be held.
