ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The principal objective of Economic Development Programme is to contribute to the process of overcoming economic crisis in Georgia.

PROGRAMME PRIORITIES:

Main Priorities of the Programme are enumerated below:

  • Overcoming poverty through employment support;
  • Improvement of general business environment;
  • Contribution to the development of small and medium-size enterprises.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Project Title: Support Rural Livelihoods and Employments in Samegrelo and Ajara Regions, Western Georgia

Project Overview

Project aims to support introduction to Samegrelo and Adjara regions technologies of intensive agriculture and increase awareness and develop agricultural skills of impoverished population engaged in agriculture. In pursuit of said goal within the framework of the Project establishment of farmer groups is planned in Samegrelo and Zemo Adjara regions in order to acquaint them with new technologies and provide support with means of production along with agricultural consultancy services and links with product market following the harvest. As a future prospect, Project also provides for establishment of farmer associations and cooperatives
